Myrtle Beach Cycling Club™️ is for all cyclists in Myrtle Beach and the surrounding area. We ride for fun, exercise, and safe cycling.We host a variety of weekly rides, and quarterly long rides, and promote cycling education, safety, and advocacy in our community. We want to help create a safer place to ride a bicycle and are affiliated with local, state, and national cycling advocacy organizations. Cycling advocacy organizations fight to create more and better places for us to ride bikes.We have weekly group rides of all levels, bike events, and other community gatherings.If this is something you may be interested in, then please read more about our cycling club and feel free to contact us with any questions that you may have.Please consider joining us to build a healthier, safer, and more visible cycling community for all to enjoy.

WHO WE ARE AND OUR GOALS

We are cyclists that have a mission to change the relationship between cyclists and motorists and to promote road safety for everyone.We can't wait for better bike lanes, or safer drivers, or smarter pedestrians. We can only affect change in the one thing which we have total control over, ourselves.We are cyclists after all, and by changing our approach to cycling, we can transform it from fearful to joyful.We have to be role models to other cyclists and our community.Here is an example of a bad cyclist and a bad motorist.
Bike Salmon - someone who rides his or her bike against traffic.
The Right Hook - The right hook occurs when a cyclist is traveling straight through an intersection or parking lot entrance and a motorist turns right without looking and hits the cyclist.

HOW TO JOIN AND THE BENEFITS

Membership is free or you can be a supporting member for $7.50 a year for a single membership and $12.50 for a couple. We also offer our club jersey purchase for $60.00.BENEFITS OF MEMBERSHIP
1. Provide a social network for like-minded people who share a passion for cycling.
2. Support Cycling advocacy
3. A reduced rate to join the League of American Bicyclists ($15 instead of $45).
4. 10% discount on parts, accessories, and labor at participating local bike shops and our sponsors.
5. [Supporting Members] A party at the end of the year with funds raised from rides and events.
7. Information hub for events, routes, safety, and learning.

RIDES & ROUTES IN THE AREA

We are currently meeting on Sundays at 9 AM across from The Boat House (201 Fantasy Harbour Blvd, Myrtle Beach, SC 29579) for 30 miles base rides.We are planning bi-monthly rides at Frances Marion National Forest.
